I think the Patton clip is as gay as the rest of them. The key is to show something that will get the attention of 45,000 people, something that they can relate to, something that is not cheesy. Our phans, for the most part, are reactive, not proactive.
We react to big hits, big defensive plays, crucial counts on the batter, etc’ We thrive on the euphoric feeling of a comeback win. I don’t think there should be any concern as to whether or not people are ‘into’ the game. If we are going into the bottom of the 8th or 9th and we are behind, people know. If it is not as loud as it should be, it is quiet with anticipation. When that big moment happens, you will hear us in Camden’. Read more on Hoosiers Basketball Movie
Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. tip and can be heard on KSNM AM 570 in Las Cruces. Finally, as was reported via the Las Cruces Sun-News yesterday, UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker was on campus yesterday and is reportedly the leading candidate for the vacant Aggie football head coaching job.
The one way link building service.
Regardless of who becomes the new head coach they will have the same tough task of building up the numbers on the roster. We ran across a very interesting article in Louisville Courier-Journal yesterday. Eric Crawford, one of their beat writers, conducted an exit interview with Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English who left to become head coach at Eastern Michigan. We harped on the fact that the Aggies had a lack of depth and that injuries took their toll on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball last season (and as a result we took a beating from a few people) but here’s what English had to say (and keep in mind that this is at Louisville, a BCS team where conceivably it’s much easier to recruit than at NMSU)… English said the Cardinals’ problems can be summed up in just one word: numbers. wasn’t as well received as the first installment, and horror Movies generally haven’t been performing over the last few months, so a slight decline for the third chapter in the series can be expected. At the same time, there was a slight uptick from ‘Saw II’ to ‘Saw III,’ so there is a chance ‘Paranormal Activity 3′ exceeds its predecessor. Paramount is expecting a mid-$30 million opening followed by a better hold than ‘Paranormal Activity 2′ …
My daughter was at the movie rental place and noticed a Girls Basketball Movie, Believe In Me. You’ll may have already seen it or at least heard about it. The setting is Oklahoma and the coach comes to the small town thinking he will be coaching boys basketball.
‘Source Code’ remains firmly rooted in science fiction territory but whereas ‘Moon’ channeled films like ’2001: A Space Odyssey’ and ‘Alien,’ the script from Ben Ripley takes influence from ‘Groundhog’s Day,’ ’12 Monkeys,’ and the little-seen Tony Scott/Denzel Washington Movie ‘Deja Vu’ from a few years back. Through some advanced near-future psuedo-science, our main character (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) is able to experience the last 8 minutes of a recently deceased person’s life. In this case, the person is a victim of a terrorist bombing on a Chicago commuter train.
Jake is repeatedly sent back into this ‘simulation’ by his military handlers since he’s the only one who can utilize those 8 minutes to discover who the bomber is before an even bigger terrorist attack is launched on downtown Chicago. Expect plenty of twists and turns along the way.
But, look. People with an IQ above 40 need just a little more. My own is 41, so unfortunately I’m just over the edge.
I’m fine with the TRUTH eating DARWIN decals and the fat moms in WWE T-shirts and the Confederate flag bandannas and the 10+ support-the-troops decals on the trunk of your Plymouth Horizons, and the NASCAR bobbleheads on your back deck. Really. I am. It’s charming. But somehow I suspect that Lil’ Bow Wow isn’t going to put on a really tour-de-force performance. It’s likely I’d be able to get the same effect from watching it on HBO. So, for us only-half-retarded people, it might be better to show Movies in Movie theaters that cost over ten dollars that are actually any of the following: a) funny, b) good, c) unusual. I’m just saying.
That makes sports Movies like “The Fighter” an endangered species, since originality is anathema to their success. Ironically, since they involve men and women pushing themselves to accomplish nearly impossible physical feats, we like sports Movies not because they challenge us, but because they reassure us. As Simmons notes, “We’re so accustomed to seeing every boxing Movie end the same way — with our hero winning the big fight — that even though we love having curveballs thrown at us in the theater, it always feels disconcerting if a boxing Movie ends unhappily.” He’s right; even the “Rocky” films that end with Rocky losses in the ring involve greater and higher spiritual or moral victories; he goes the distance, proves he’s still got a champion’s heart, etc.
Sports Movies are cinematic comfort food: we know “Rocky III” isn’t particularly good for us, we know it won’t teach us much about cinematic technique (other than, say, how to make an effective training montage) but, dammit, they make us feel so good.
Yesterday was one of those days I really wish I had my camera with me. The Girls high school basketball team of the town I was driving though was doing a car wash fundraiser. There were of course about four teenage Girls bouncing up and down with signs that read, Car Wash, and Girls Basketball with the name of their school or team.
Then there was the overly bouncy and giggly girl with the sign that read, Give a baller a dollar. Oh, her father must be proud.

Another movie about girl’s Basketball is Believe in Me, based on the true story of an Oklahoma Basketball coach in Oklahoma in the 1960′s. A vanilla movie that is over-sentimentalized (as many sports movies are), but fun to watch to inspire as well as to help understand the history and struggles of girl’s Basketball. (buy it here) You might try the book instead from which it was based, Brief Garland: Ponytails, Basketball, and Nothing But Net by Harold Keith.

1. ‘Space Jam.’ Finally, number one on my list and the greatest basketball movie of all time is ‘Space Jam.’ This movie is a classic. I love everything about this movie.
The reason most people ever started dribbling a ball was because of Michael Jordan, and the greatest basketball player starring in the greatest basketball movie only makes sense. This movie has humor, Looney Tunes, an incredible soundtrack and plenty of basketball. This movie was a landmark in pop culture. Even in today’s conversation, if you bring up this movie, everyone’s face instantly lights up with memories of watching this movie and trying to recreate the memorable scene of Michael Jordan throwing down a slam dunk from half court. If you are trying to get in the mood for a basketball game, watching legends like Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and David Robinson all together should inspire you to strive for greatness.
i think its a good thing that mr. sammel Jackson is speaking out against gun violence. however i can see it being hypocritical in staring in movies where hes using guns himself.
the Sam Jackson grossing more than any other actor in Hollywood is old, he’s been doing that for a while now, he’s know as the hardest working actor in Hollywood, he has grossed more than any other actor, but it’s not that he gets paid more per film it’s that he does so many so that’s more money coming in and i like that becuase if you say you’re an actor and that’s your profession then that’s what you sould be doing, i hate when actors (esp. black actors) say that there isn’t work or enough quality roles for black actors, ok if you’re an actor, act, do commercials, stage, small screen (tv), big screen, music videos, hell do a informercial just act, some actors will not act if the role is too small, not enough money or if its not on the big screen, that’s what i love about Sam Jackson he don’t give a hoot he’s doing it, his part in a movie could be 15 mins or the entire 2 1/2 hours he’s going to show up and show out.
On a remote island, a wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening the attraction to the public, he invites a top paleontologist, a paleobotanist, a mathematician/theorist, and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park ‘ and help calm anxious investors. However, their park visit is anything but tranquil as the park’s security system breaks down, the prehistoric creatures break out, and the excitement builds to surprising results.
1. Glory Road ‘ The most modern title on this list, ‘Glory Road’ is Basketball filmmaking at its finest. Featuring similar underdog heroism as ‘Hoosiers,’ ‘Glory’ was of course privy to much higher production values than its 20-year-old counterpart, and so is a better fit for the modern audience.
Aside from having some of the best choreographed and directed shots of the sport itself, the film also presents a succinct narrative on racial divisions within the time period. Definitely the opposite of the ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ race issue, the film is based on the real-life prejudice that was the predominantly white NCAA of the 1960s. Basically it’s the Basketball equivalent of ‘Remember the Titans’ (also a Disney feature) but has a greater focus on realism, and isn’t as preachy.
Samuel L. Jackson stars in the 2005 movie Coach Carter, based on the story of basketball coach Ken Carter who helps turn a rebellious high school basketball team around. The narrator in the clip is Rick Gonzalez, playing the part of Timo Cruz, one of the students on the team.

The first such mascot was “Jimmie the Coyote”…so named because it was an actual friggin’ coyote owned by local sports nut (and possibly real-life nut) M.H. Kriebel.
Soon after, the School had what some would refer to as a “human mascot”…John Richard Newton Bell. Bell was a Presbyterian minister in Corvallis and a longtime member of the OAC (Oregon Agricultural College) board of regents who just happened to be a passionate supporter of the football team. After a Civil War (Oregon State’s yearly game against the University of Oregon) victory, Bell would march to the Marys River and toss his top hat into the water as a token of celebration. The first such hat-drowning came in 1894 and soon became a yearly social event that saw scores of Corvallis residents make the trek to the river as well. Bell’s devotion to the club (and disdain for top hats) earned him the distinction of being named the School‘s official mascot, despite the fact that he wasn’t an anthropomorphic animal with an oversized cranium. The School later honored Bell by naming their football field “Bell Field”‘a name that stuck until the 1950s.

Simply put, a glorious piece of filmmaking. Splendid cinematography by Janusz Kaminski, a stirring score by John Williams and Michael Kahns adept editing help create this engaging and important work of art. I have not read the Keneally book (though most of my students have), but Steven Zaillians screenplay brings this chilling and inspiring true story to life in such a skilled, crafted way.

There are many films focused on the Holocaust, and though this may not be my favorite one, it is surely the one that most people point to as being the quintessential Holocaust film. Liam Neeson plays Oskar Schindler, who starts off as a vain and avaricious businessman, who uses the Jews as cheap labor to start a factory in Poland during WW II. Slowly, he begins to see first-hand, the horrors endured by the Jews, and begins a quest in trying to save as many lives as possible. In the end, he composes a List of over 1,100 Jewish people who he rescued from death. I know there is a lot of praise & glorification being thrown around throughout this List, but that is because these are 10 magnificent films that stand out among, literally, thousands. Here is one statement though that is in no way hyperbole Ralph Fiennes, in bringing to life Amon Goeth, created (in my estimation) the most vile screen villain ever put on film. In Goeth, we witness the true evil a human being is capable of. He is terrifying, unpredictable and oh-so genuine. He wants so desperately to be admired and liked, as Schindler is; the way he looks at himself in the mirror, the clumsy manner in which he tries to pardon a Jew that he so desperately wants to kill, the blunt manner in which he shoots another human beingFiennes does it all with impeccable authenticity. The film didnt have much competition that year, but I dont think it really matters. No matter what movies were released that year, Spielbergs movie (winner of 7 Oscars) was taking home the grand prizeits that remarkable an achievement.
According to the notice, the main purpose of the forum is to allow all stakeholders in the game (including manufacturers, players, media, golf organizations and other parties) the opportunity to make their views on equipment rulemaking known to the USGA, and to each other — something Solheim alluded to in a statement after that meeting with USGA representatives, including new president Jim Hyler, last month. “I’m encouraged by their willingness to openly discuss some of the challenges the golf industry faces relating to equipment issues,” Solheim said. “We left the meeting with an understanding we would continue to seek a solution that benefits golfers and acknowledges the importance innovation plays in the game.” However, Dick Rugge, the USGA’s senior technical director, dismissed the notion that there was a correlation between the Ping dispute and the announcement, calling the forum a “standalone event.” “We wouldn’t do something like this if we weren’t ready to hear these ideas,” said Rugge.
“Maybe there is a better way to do things, and if we can, we will. If people have ideas on our process, we want to hear those ideas. Even if it’s Joe Golfer who has some thoughts — this is the time to hear it.”. Read more on List Of All English Movies

Animaze is proud to present a rare documentary about Warner Bros’ s legendary director Friz Freleng. This film was created for special limited edition book Released in the 90s and due to a legal restrictions, it can’t be shown commercially (as per an agreement with Warner, cannot be Released until 2024). I have gotten permission to show this film for charity.
The film’s director, Greg Ford, (who also made another documentary on legendary Bugs Bunny director Chuck Jones and few Looney Tunes shorts) will make an appearance at the festival. He will talk about his documentary and share his memories/stories of working at Warner Brothers with the godfathers of modern animation like Friz Ferling, Chuck Jones, Virgil Ross, and Bob Clampett. When you have distributed your credits among the link snippets and saved the changes, the link snippets are then configured and moved to the links awaiting publication tab.
